Vibrant colours and beginning of materical search, the borderline zone between painting and sculpture.

The first artworks of Costanzo Rovati given birth during his artistic-professional formation, relate to the period from 1965 to 1970.

Since immediately he took interest in all what is nature and material,like that he discovered the great magic of the relief, becoming motif of artistic choice which guided him towards a continuous research for natural varieties of materials and substances in a thematic context, to be understood as empty-full, towards a perspective depth. His works are a perfect axiom of painting-sculpture, plasticity of forms and spaces, volumes and dimensions perfectly equilibrated where the colour creates emotions and vibrations of great creative intensity, original and personal.

The Combustions Cycle, most recent artworks and the fascinating biennial exhibition of Austria.

Nowadays, his engagement and his creations are mainly adressed, towards all which the consumer society produces and then reject, searching in it the continuation to new life, more right, intenseand full of emotion by shape, colours and themes projected towards a future appearing whitch guide poetics.

An advise: Stop for a while, with special attention, on the works “White on white”, where the graphic marks and material release a primar task, without influence of colour; certain clots and traces slightly remarked by the material present the measure of great sensibility, a sensative easthetic feeling.
Costanzo Rovati is not an artist somehow or of tendency, compleatly personal, he does not follow or imitate something already created, his works are clear, balanced and of strong personality-just like a good Russian Music which may be soft and mighty at the same time, offering emotion and vibration of great intensity.

  In this section you find Canouan e Mayreau projects, inspired by the magic of tropics.

  Canouan Project: during the period of 1998-2000 realization of 180 multimaterial artworks on Canouan, St. Vincent & the Grenadies, created on marine plywood panels, size: 90x110 cm.by using almost exclusive materials and substances found on the island.
  Furthermore,he has restructured a church built by British people during the 18° century (Anglican Church, Carenage) by creating a big panel, dimension: 5X3 mt. and three artistic stained glass windows.

  Mayreau island project: in 2000 he opened the "School for Applied Art" on Mayreau, St. Vincent & the Grenadines for some young people of the island.
It is the intention of the artist to continue teaching art during the very next future.
  On Mayreau the "Costanzo Rovati museum" Has been completed by exposing 40 artworks.
